Season Four- Day eight (Island Day 98)

December 28, 2004

Barracks- Keamy and his mercenaries retreat from the smoke monster to the freighter via the helicopter piloted by Lapidus.

Claire, Miles, and Sawyer head toward Beach after leaving the Barracks. Miles finds Rousseau and Karl's shallow grave. The group is surprised by Lapidus, who instruct them to hide in the bush from an angry Keamy. Keamy passes and the group continues toward the beach and makes camp for the night. Miles wakes in the night and sees Claire leave with Dr. Christian Shephard, whom she refers to as 'dad', leaving Aaron about 10 yards from camp site. Miles relates this to Sawyer when Sawyer awakes. Sawer and Miles search for Claire unsuccessfully.

Island- Locke, Hugo, and Ben search in vain throughout the day for Jacob's cabin. They make camp for the night. Locke has a dream telling him to search for the Dhama mass grave.

Beach- The beach camp needs medical supplies for Jack's operation. Jin, Sun, Faraday, Charlotte go to the Staff, obtain the necessary supplies, and return the beach site. Juliet successfully operates on Jack. Jin realizes the Charlotte speaks Korean and demands that the helicopter take Sun when it returns. Charlotte agrees.

Season Four- Day nine (Island Day 99)

Jungle- Locke, Ben, and Hurley spent the previous night camping in the jungle after a fruitless search for Jacob’s cabin. While sleeping Locke has a dream in which Horace Goodspeed, of the DHARMA group, instructs Locke on how to find Jacob’s cabin. Per his dream, Locke, Hugo, and Ben locate the Dhama mass grave. Locke searches thru the corpses and finds Horace Goodspeed’s body, which holds a map to Jacob’s cabin. Locke, Ben, and Hugo use this map to locate Jacob’s cabin. Locke enters the cabin alone and sees Dr. Christian Shephard and Claire in the cabin. Dr. Christian Shephard speaks on Jacob’s behalf and instructs Locke to ‘move the island’.

Sawyer, Miles, and Aaron spend the day looking for Claire while traveling toward the beach site.

Beach- At the beach site during the night, the helicopter approaches. Lapidus drops a satchel with a satellite phone onto the beach site to track his helicopter.

Season Four- Day ten part one (Island Day 100)

Beach- Jack and Kate leave the beach site to follow the helicopter with the satellite phone dropped from the helicopter. They run into Sawyer, Miles, and Aaron, who are approaching the beach. Sawyer gives Aaron to Kate, who with Miles, returns to the beach. Sayer joins Jack and together they follow the helicopter using the satellite signal as Kate returns to beach with Aaron and Miles.

Sayid reaches beach from freighter using the freighter's zodiac raft. Sayid and Kate leave the beach site to track Jack and Sawyer.

Faraday uses the zodiac raft to ferry people to the freighter.

Jack and Sawyer reach the helicopter, and find Lapidus handcuffed to the helicopter. Lapidus tells them that Keamy will kill Ben and anyone with him. Hugo is with Ben. Jack and Sawyer leave helicopter site to rescue Hugo.

Kate and Sayid are surrounded by the ‘Others’ and conspire with them to free Ben.

Ben leads Hugo and Locke towards the Orchid. They stop at a box that contains a mirror. Ben uses the mirror to signal the ‘Others’ for help.

Season Four- Day ten part two (Island Day 100)

Orchid - Ben, Locke, and Hugo arrive at the Orchid, but Keamy and his men are already there. Ben gives Locke instruction on how to enter the Orchid and then surrenders himself to Keamy, who leads him back to the helicopter site.

At the helicopter site, Kate runs out of the brush and claims that Ben’s people are chasing her. Gunfire erupts and a hand grenade explodes, giving Kate the cover she needs to escape with Ben. Keamy chases her and Ben, but Sayid knocks him down and a Richard Alpart shoots Keamy in the back. Kate and Sayid are allowed to leave the island for saving Ben. They return to the helicopter. Ben returns to the Orchid where he meets Jack and Sawyer, who just arrived at the Orchid. Locke tries to convince Jack to stay, but Jack, Sawyer, and Hugo leave for the helicopter. Ben tells Jack he should be off the island within the hour. Locke tells Jack that he will have to lie about the island to save the people left behind.

Beach- Faraday returns from the freighter to ferry the next group of survivors to the freighter. The freighter is now visible from the island’s coast.

Season Four- Day ten part three (Island Day 100)

Orchid – Ben and Locke enter the Orchid and travel below using an elevator. Keamy surprises them and Ben kills Keamy, activating a bomb aboard the freighter. Ben puts on a winter Parka and says goodbye to Locke. Ben tells Locke that ‘Richard and my people are waiting 2 miles east (south: see continuity error) of the Orchid’. Ben enters an underground vault alone. Locke travels south of the Orchid and meets the Others.

Faraday starts to ferry five more people toward the freighter.

Jack, Sawyer, Hurley make it back to the helicopter where Kate and Sayid are with Frank. They fly back to the freighter, but are losing gas from a punctured gas tank. The freighter is not visible as they jettison items. To save fuel, Sawyer jumps and swims back to the island. The freighter becomes visible again and they land, refuel, and take off adding Sun and Aaron before the freighter explodes. The freighter explodes and sinks with Michael and Jin aboard.

Beach – Sawyer and Juliet watch the smoke from the freighter explosion from the beach.

As Ben turns a large horizontal wheel, he comments ‘ I hope your happy now Jacob’. A loud whooshing sound accompanied by a blinding light engulfs the Island.

The island, the blazing freighter, and Faraday’s raft then disappears from the view of those in the helicopter.

The helicopter, losing fuel, jettisons a life raft and crash-lands into the open ocean. All passengers – Jack, Sun, Aaron, Sayid, Hugo, Kate, Desmond, and pilot Frank Lapidus- make it onto the life raft, although Jack has to revive Desmond.

As day turns to night, the group floats on the open ocean. At night, the Searcher rescues them, a boat owned by Desmond’s girlfriend Penny Whitmore.

Jack tells the group they must lie to protect the people they left on the island.

A week later, the group (known as the Oceanic Six) make it to civilization and are presented to the press, where they introduce their lie. It is not clear as to disposition of Desmond and Lapidus.
